This year see the end of the wall excavation dig on the Burrs finalising three years of intence excavations confounded with all types of weather (2023 - wet land due to rain, 2024 - hard land due to dry period).
it has been an interesting excavation that changed the perception of what historions thought the wall was like, to archaeologist finding out and knowing what it is like.
From this new info we have been able, with the skills of Mark Hoyle, an archarological artist/designer, been able to produce an impression of how we now believe it was.
this new information has allowed us to be able to achieve a long time objective of been able to produce a visitors information board. this was unvieled last year at our end of dig open day by East Riding of Yorkshires portfolio holder for Culture, Leisure and Tourism.
