After four years of planning and aspirations on Thursday 20 August The turf on the Burrs was removed for the start of the archaeological dig in search for the theatre. 

 

Within 10 minutes evidence of ocupation was being uncovered with pieces of dateable pottery seeing the light of day for the first time in over 1600 years
